Variety of Georgian wines received the highest awards in the international competition "Sakura" in Japan: 2 Double Gold, 15 Gold and 7 Silver Medals.
2019年2月14日，在日本舉辦的第六屆“櫻花”國際比賽中，格魯吉亞的24款葡萄酒獲得了最高獎項：兩枚雙金牌，15枚金牌和7枚銀牌。
International Competition "Sakura" (The 6th "Sakura" Japan Women's Wine Awards 2019) is a large-scale event held this year for the sixth time. More than four thousand different wines from 33 countries were represented at the competition. The jury is staffed by women in wine industry - sommeliers, wine writers and journalists.
2019年是“櫻花”日本女子葡萄酒大獎舉辦的第六屆。來自33個國家的4000多種不同的葡萄酒參加了比賽。評審團由葡萄酒行業的女性組成—侍酒師、葡萄酒作家和記者。

Winners of the "Double Gold"award will be presented on March 5, 2019 at Foodex Japan, for the Diamond Trophy Award.

Victory in such prestigious competitions will promote the development of aspecific company as well as Georgian wines in general in the Japanese wine market. Japan is a strategic market for Georgian wine, where the National Wine Agency has been implementing marketing activities since 2014. Last year, 212 thousand bottles of wine were exported to Japan, which is 37% higher than the data of 2017.

To promote the popularity and awarenessof Georgian wine in Japan, from March 10 to May 7, 2019, a large project "Georgia – Cradle of Wine" will be held.
